FMPAC Conference

The last meeting for this school year was held on April 8th and 9th in Or-lando, FL at the Rosen Center Plaza Hotel. There were 13 members present. Mrs. Pouncey did a presentation on the Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA). Mrs. Vania Llovera Assis-tant Director at Florida State University with the Department of Human Rights presented a PowerPoint presentation and video which provided information on Violation of Human Rights. Important points, such as how to identify it, who are the victims, and how to assist them were discussed. Dr. Reyes, Associate Professor and Vice Chair for Education at Florida State University with the College of Medicine, presented a PowerPoint presentation on Suicide Prevention with information such as factors, risky situations, cultural factors, how to identify, and how to prevent it. The minutes from the previous meeting in Orlando, FL were reviewed and ap-proved. The upcoming FMPAC meeting is pending. We will post information on the FMPAC website and advise migrant coordinators as soon as it is confirmed.
