FMPAC Conference

Parent Conference

May 31, 2013

Thank you for another great year!

The fourth and last meeting of the 2012-2013 school year took place at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando, Florida on May 31st , and June 1st, 2013. The meeting was called to order by Elizabeth Galvan. There were 13 members present. Members gave feedback from the National Migrant Conference. Arcelia Lopez expressed that she learned a lot at the conference. Guillermo Ramirez was very happy to have attended the conference.

Lucia Esquivel presented members with the information that needs to be in an evaluation report. Dr. Pouncey gave members information on the Common Core State Standards and how this will affect students as well as teachers. The members received the MALDEF training on how to Develop an Action Plan. Overall, this year's meetings have been very instructive. We are looking forward to another school year filled with more trainings and workshops to empower parents in getting involved in their child's education.

Have a safe summer!
