FMPAC Conference

The first meeting for this school year was held on September 16th and 17th in Orlando, FL at the Rosen Centre. There were 15 members present along with the Director of Florida Migrant Education Program. Ms. Carol Gagliano, FMPAC Liaison from the FLDOE MEP. Mrs. Pouncey spoke to the parents about the Service Delivery Plan. The parents were then able to provide their opinion and suggestions. By-laws were reviewed. Some changes were made and voted on for approval. David Peñaflor, master folklorist, had a very exciting presentation celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with guitar playing, traditional sing-alongs, and demonstrating the importance of literature. The minutes from the meeting on April 8th - 9th in Orlando, were reviewed and approved. The second FMPAC meeting is currently pending. We will post information on the FMPAC website at www.myfmpac.org and advise migrant coordinators as soon as it is confirmed.
