FMPAC Conference

The first meeting for the 2012-2013 school year was held on September 14 and 15, 2012 at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Florida. There was 14 members present. The new executive board were seated. The following parents where nominated and voted to become members of the Florida Migrant Parent Advisory Council (FMPAC): Diana Gutierrez from Suwanee County, Vicente Reyes from Madison County, Samantha Torres from Dade County, Juan Vazquez from Sarasota County, and Maria Lopez from Orange County. The following district representatives where also nominated and voted in to the FMPAC: Katie Amaral from Volusia County, Nicholas Gonzalez from The first meeting for the 2012-2013 school year was held on September 14 and 15, 2012 at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Florida. The following district representatives where also nominated and voted in to the FMPAC: Katie Amaral from Volusia County, Nicholas Gonzalez from members that he obtained from the Tallahassee and Orlando museums. An FMPAC member requested that there be a presentation about the comparison and contrast of the Mexican National Anthem and the American National anthem. Mr. Peñaflor provided the members with lyrics to both anthems and went through it analyzing both anthems. As a group they worked together towards understanding the lyrics and their influence.
