BY-LAWS

MIGRANT EDUCATION PROGRAM
ARTICLE IV - Functions of the Council Section 1 - Members
A. All members of the Florida Migrant Parent Advisory Council shall participate in an orientation workshop after being appointed. The purpose of the orientation shall be to familiarize members with the Migrant Education Program and their responsibilities as members of the Council.
B. All members of the Florida Migrant Parent Advisory Council shall attend designated meetings and conferences that are pertinent to developing their skills and broadening their knowledge of the Migrant Education Program and the Florida Migrant Parent Advisory Council.
C. All members of the Florida Migrant Parent Advisory Council shall attend official council meetings and be responsible for advising the State Education Agency on issues concerning program implementation.
D. All members of the Florida Migrant Parent Advisory Council shall serve on committees as appointed by the Council President or members of the Council.
E. All FMPAC members will actively participate in district activities by sharing information at the local level
ARTICLE V - Quorum and Rules of Order
Section 1
Members present shall constitute a quorum in order to act on business that is on the agenda. On matters not on the agenda, a quorum shall consist of a simple majority of the membership.
Section 2
Prior to any vote the secretary will inform the president of any quorum.
ARTICLE VI - Amendments
Section 1
Any member of the Council may propose amendments to the by-laws, first in consultation with the President to be reviewed by the Executive Board.
Section 2
These by-laws may be amended at any time by two-thirds affirmative vote of the members present, provided that the amendments are compatible with the responsibilities assigned to the Council.
